A campaign lets you send one WhatsApp message to an entire group of customers at the same time. Use campaigns for offers, order updates, restock alerts, and event invites.

How it works

Every campaign follows the same three steps before StoreTalk sends on your behalf:
  1. Pick a template — a pre-approved WhatsApp message format
  2. Choose your audience — a Segment of contacts
  3. Send or schedule — immediately or at a future date and time
StoreTalk then sends to each contact individually and tracks every message through Sent → Delivered → Read, flagging anything that fails.

Create a campaign

1

Open Campaigns

Click Campaigns in the left menu, then click New Campaign.
2

Name it

Give the campaign an internal name — for example, “Diwali Sale 2024”. Customers never see this name.
3

Choose a template

Select a pre-approved WhatsApp message template from the list.
4

Choose your audience

Pick a Segment — for example, “All Wholesale Customers”.
5

Send or schedule

Click Send Now to send immediately, or set a future date and time.
6

Confirm

StoreTalk queues all messages and sends them for you. You can track progress in the campaign results.
You can only send campaigns using pre-approved WhatsApp templates — free-text blasts are not allowed. This is a Meta rule that applies to all businesses, not just yours. It exists to prevent spam.
Not sure which template to use? Go to Settings → Templates to see all your approved templates. If you need a new one, create it and submit it for approval before creating your campaign.

Best practices

Do

  • Send for genuine reasons: offers, order updates, reminders
  • Only message contacts who have interacted with your business
  • Use your brand name so customers recognise you
  • Personalise with the customer’s name using template variables

Don't

  • Send unsolicited messages to cold numbers — accounts get banned
  • Send the same campaign to the same people multiple times in a week
  • Use misleading template text just to get approval
  • Send to opted-out contacts (StoreTalk blocks this automatically)
