A Segment is a saved group of contacts. When you send a Campaign, you pick a Segment as the audience. There are two types: Static and Dynamic.

Creating a Static Segment
Go to Segments
Click Segments in the left menu.
New Segment
Click New Segment and choose Static type.
Name it
Give the segment a name (e.g. “Diwali VIP List”).
Add contacts
Search and add individual contacts to the list.
Save
Save — you can add or remove contacts any time.
Creating a Dynamic Segment
New Segment
Click New Segment and choose Dynamic type.
Add rules
Add rules — for example: Tag equals “Wholesale”.
Narrow it down
Add more rules (e.g. Opted in = Yes) to refine the audience.
Save
Save — StoreTalk recalculates the list every time you use the segment.
Dynamic segments are great for ongoing campaigns. Create one called “Active customers” and it will always include your latest contacts automatically.
