Sign in with WhatsApp adds a “Continue with WhatsApp” button to your website or app, next to buttons like Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. Customers sign in with the WhatsApp number they already use — no password, no email, no SMS. Meta doesn’t offer a “Login with WhatsApp” button for websites. StoreTalk fills that gap: it sends the customer a one-time code from your own WhatsApp number, checks it, and tells your website who signed in.

How it works

Next time, on the same phone or browser, they just tap Continue as +91 98•••• 3210 — no new code.

What you get

Easier sign-in

Almost every customer in India already has WhatsApp. No passwords to forget, no email to confirm.

Verified numbers

Every signed-in customer has proved they own the number — no fake or mistyped numbers.

Customers in your inbox

Each sign-in creates or updates the customer in Contacts, linked to their WhatsApp conversation.

Your brand

The code comes from your WhatsApp number and the sign-in page shows your business name.

Who can use it

Sign in with WhatsApp is available to businesses that have:
  1. Their own WhatsApp Business account connected to StoreTalk. Codes are always sent from your own number — never from the shared StoreTalk number. If your business uses the shared StoreTalk number (or your own number on StoreTalk’s shared account), connect your own WhatsApp Business account first.
  2. An active plan — any paid plan, or an active free trial.
If either of these stops being true (for example, you disconnect your own WhatsApp account), your websites are suspended and customers can’t sign in. They resume automatically once you’re eligible again. Codes are never switched to the shared StoreTalk number.

What it costs

Each code is a WhatsApp authentication message, which Meta charges to your WhatsApp Business account at its authentication rate. StoreTalk doesn’t add a fee. Settings shows an estimate of these Meta charges for the last 30 days. Customers who tap Continue as … don’t get a code, so those sign-ins cost nothing.

Works with your website and apps

  • Websites — any site: WordPress, Shopify custom apps, Next.js, Laravel, or your own code.
  • Mobile apps — iOS and Android apps, using the phone’s secure browser sheet.
  • Standard technology — it’s OpenID Connect, the same standard behind “Sign in with Google”, so your developer can use the libraries they already know.
